According to ESPN, scUM returns only 36% of its team production, success, and efficiency (however you factor all that in), which ranks them at 130th of all FBS schools and dead last for all P4 teams. Washington is the next lowest P4 team at 126 in FBS and 40%, then you have to go up to Tennessee at 108 and 48%. We rank 56th (65%) thanks to McCord and MHJ leaving.

scUM's most productive returning player is DT Mason Graham. I would have thought it would be Donovan Edwards but I guess Corum took away potential carries from him.

Edwards had a meh year in 2023. Completely overshadowed by Corum.

Also of note is that of Power 4 teams, they are 66th of 68 in returning starters.

They do have many backups this last season who saw meaningful snaps last season. But they were 2s and not playing as a unit. Their depth this year will be questionable at best. And for 2025 they are looking at tough sledding.

Edwards was actually pretty bad last year outside of a couple plays. I’d say he’s their 4th best player after graham, Johnson, and Grant

    Loveland is better too.

If they have new o-line, new QB, new WRs issues then Edwards is going to get leaned on and will be beaten to hell.

Edwards is not as impressive as everyone wants to always say he is. He’s fast but has vision that Ray Charles would scoff at. The dude pinballs off of a couple OL before he finds the gaping holes they paved for him. Let’s see what he does when he doesn’t have that same OL and he’s the only offensive threat to key on. They are going to be in roughhhhh shape offensively this year.

They are likely to not have a serious pass game. With the talent we have in the secondary, I'd play man against their new WRs and pack the box. Beat on Edwards and Orji all day like rented mules.

And Michigan is not taking advantage of their recent NC in recruiting and NIL which probably will be costly down the road..Michigan schedule is also daunting with Texas(home),USC(home),@Washington, Oregon(home) and @Ohio State which may result in spiralling fortunes..Michigan lack of recruiting prowness and NIL is kinda-like a self-imposed penalty..hard to fathom that a team that cheated to win championships is now sabotaging their program.

Here is what Harbaugh and the CheatWeaselGate did to the program:

scUM returns the least production of any P4 team (8)

Recruits don't want to touch them, especially with NCAA sanctions looming.

If their O Line is a strength next year, then there really is something to their mythology. Has a team with 5 new starters on the line ever done well? Honestly don't know the answer to that question.

Reading through this thread you would think they have been recruiting like Georgia. They talk about the holes ohio st has while completely ignoring they lost everything with no high level talent to replace it. They claim they are good at development but wont acknowledge they lost the entire coaching staff who developed those players. They have absolute nothing at qb,wr and a lot of unknown at o line. Other than Johnson they have nothing in the secondary.

There are exceptions over there that realize they have more questions than answers.

That said, there's also a very big contingent that hook, line and sinker has swallowed the mythology of TTUN men being the toughest and their culture being superior and that's that. You'd think the 20 years prior to 2021 never happened. They utterly dismiss the notion that SpyGate was real and affected anything. Oh, and any NCAA sanctions will be laughable if they come at all (here they may be right, we'll see). Lost coaches? Their replacements were part of the system blah blah... they won't skip a beat. So many new starters? Well, they were effectively CO-starters last year. The only thing some of them are willing to admit is a question is QB. And even then, it's just going to be Edwards and Orji running us over like the 2nd half in 2022, especially because Ohio State's LBers are so awful.

There's a Vegas odds thread over there where some of them are having a circle jerk over how Ohio State will lose to Oregon and TTUN and that might be enough to keep the Bucks out of the tourney of 12.

They claim they’re elite at development yet also will say that 2024 might be a down year because they lost a bunch of mid round guys.

If you can get them to debate a little, they really end up talking out both sides of their mouths, and their azz. It's hilarious.

Yeah I got into debates with them Saturday about all this.

I like telling them 2024 will vindicate them from the cheating scandal or it’ll call the last 3 years into question.

Then they say they loss 13 picks.

Then i ask them about their development and how their insiders called all the new hires A hires. Then I say they’ll have more first round picks in 2025 than 2024 and that their schemes won’t change. So why would they fall off?

Then they ignore it and send a gif haha

They have this belief Sherron will just reload with a brand new oline that has zero experience and have no drop off and dominate . Apparently it’s just what he does. Between that and this toughness culture they claim to that no one else does. It’s going to be great watching their dreams get destroyed.

There’s definitely a cult element to that program. But I think their fans are willing to excuse any behavior if it means they win and then they can rely on the cult atmosphere to be like “no it doesn’t matter”.

They’re pretty insecure otherwise they wouldn’t bother talking so much about it. They cried for years about how JT was short and I wouldn’t bother talking about it, too secure for that nonsense.
