Karl Urban, Antony Starr and Jack Quaid are back for the latest instalment of Amazon Prime's diabolical superhero series
The Boys fans don’t have long to wait for more diabolical drama as the hit superhero satire is set to return for a fourth season. Launching later this month, the latest instalment will see the return of Butcher, Homelander and co in eight all-new episodes.
The Boys is billed as a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It centres around vigilante group The Boys, who, Intent on stopping the corrupt supes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought – the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets.
The Boys is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, with comedy writing duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg serving as executive producers. The show has proved yet another hit for Amazon, earning eight Emmy nominations and boasting a 93 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

Its success has led to an expanding world with animated anthology Diabolical, live-action spin-off Gen V and upcoming The Boys: Mexico. In May, Amazon confirmed that The Boys has been renewed for a fifth season, with showrunner Eric Kripke hailing the show as ‘the best job’ he’ll ever have.
“The Boys could be the best job I’ll ever have. What other show allows me to write about politics, capitalism, family and exploding genitalia, though not in that order,” Kripke said. “The cast and crew are deeply grateful to Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios for the opportunity to tell this story for another season. My only problem is that since this year promises to be free of any conflict or misinformation, we’re not sure what to write about.”
A release date for season five is yet to be confirmed, so, until then, here’s everything you need to know about The Boys season four.
