    My Top 3️⃣ Lessons from the Last few months1️⃣ Product vs. Distribution: Don’t obsess over the product; obsess over distribution. With all the new tools, AI software, and connectivity, building a product has become so easy. The real differentiator in success is distribution. Building it is hard, and influencer marketing can’t replace your own distribution.2️⃣ Hire for Hunger: You cannot control people’s growth; you can just nudge them in a direction. If you hire people with great talent but no hunger, you have to keep them motivated endlessly. It is not sustainable. Hire people who have natural hunger in them and give them a direction. That’s all that matters.3️⃣ The 1% Chance: There comes a time when the chance of success is very low; these are times when you need to trust yourself. Keep your head down, believe in the process, and continue the grind. Hit or miss, you will definitely land in a better position than before.#lessons #product #distribution #hiring #marketing

    If you're hiring a Head of Growth to do 𝙖𝙡𝙡 these things, that's not a growth hire. That's a growth team!I've seen several job postings lately from companies looking for a growth leader who'll own:- Paid ads- Acquisition- Data analysis- B2B Influencer- User onboarding- Pricing optimization- Upgrade campaigns- Account-based campaigns- Conversion rate optimizationThis is a huge red flag.     Here’s a first hand insight into hiring marketing leaders. Many of the roles I went for in 2023 that i missed out on because of a better candidate are now either looking for another leader, looking for a scaled back role as leader or have moved onto another marketing leader. How do I know? Because my LinkedIn feed shows the same companies looking again and headhunters have called me about open roles a those companies. I think there is something seriously wrong in tech marketing hiring but I can’t say whether it’s the candidates or the companies or both. Frankly something needs to change. #marketinghiring
