Mikan simply swung her bow (made special by master Masamune's modifications and Naruto's magic) and the fireball was thrown aside. Konohamaru saw the arrows headed straight for him and he weaved signs. ''Fire style: phoenix flower crimson nail.'' He infused his shurikens with fire style and managed to stop the flaming arrows from hitting him.
'The Sarutobi clan specializes in fire style.' Mikan remembered that bit of information. 'I wonder, just how does your fire style compared to mine?' Mikan then weaved three signs, ending in tiger. 'Fire style: roar of the morning lion.' A powerful B rank fire jutsu in the form of a pride of lions then came to attack Konohomaru.
'What kind of fire style jutsu is this?' Konohamaru wondered as he tried to avoid the fire. He had never seen such fire jutsu before.
'Huh. Never seen such a technique before.' Kakashi watched the fight with interest. For a man who had the reputation of copying a thousand jutsu, he had never seen a jutsu like this. 'And I didn't activate my sharingan in time. And it seems Konohamaru might be having some trouble.'
'Woah. Never seen a fire jutsu like that.' Hiromi continued to be impressed by the abilities that Mikan had. 'She's younger than me but her fire style is already a rival for mine.'
'That was one of master Kazan's own creations and favourites.' Kagezaki noted from his seat. 'Hmm... Kakashi Hatake is here and so is someone with a chakra signature eerily similar to lord Naruto's. His twin sister, perhaps?'
''Fire style: five way firestream.'' Konohamaru used the more advanced form of the fireball jutsu, splitting it into five beams of fire, and attacking the pride of fire lions. But, it didn't do as he had hoped.

'Guess I'll have to use it.' Konohamaru then began to weave very familiar handsigns. ''Summoning jutsu!'' He bit his thumb and then slammed his palm on the ground; and in a poof of smoke, out came a well-muscled and fairly tall monkey.
''It seems that you are in a battle, young Konohamaru.'' Remarked the great champion of the monkeys. ''And not in your favor, it seems.''
''I know. My opponent is a bit tougher than I thought.'' Konohamaru replied and as a fire lion attacked, the great champion of the monkeys jumped up and then grabbed a fire lion from behind, giving it a suplex. ''That fire immunity of yours is really handy.''
'A monkey summon? Unexpected.' Mikan did not take into account the possibility of summons but she believed she could handle it. ''Fire style: blazing wolf pack.'' Mikan then made a wolf pack made of pure fire come to attack her enemies.
''Monkey summons!'' Kakashi exclaimed, nearly jumping out of his seat. 'Lord Third, you would be proud of your grandson.'
'You really are full of surprises, Konohamaru.' Naruto did not expect the 3rd Hokage's grandson to possess the monkey contract. 'Old man, you would be proud. Let's see how you fare against Mikan, Konohamaru.'
''Transform into the gada.'' Konohamaru told the great champion of the monkeys.
''Understood, young Konohamaru. Transformation: gada.'' The monkey said and transformed into a golden mace and the Sarutobi weilded it.
Konohamaru swung the golden mace, destroying a flaming lion with ease. He swung it around and a the mace head came out to attack the fire wolves. Attached with a chain to the main golden rod, it allowed the Sarutobi to easily strike faraway opponents and attack in mid range. Mikan avoided being hit by the weapon and shot arrows to attack Konohamaru.
''Monkey secret art: flying cloud.'' Konohamaru then created a small cloud and he stood atop it, allowing him to fly.
Mikan continued to fire her arrows but Konohamaru was too fast for her. The Sarutobi swung the mace to attack Mikan and one such attempt knocked the girl off her feet. Mikan fell down and her iron mask came off, allowing everyond to see her face and hair for the first time.
Clenching her teeth in slight rage, Mikan quickly weaved signs. ''Fire style: torrent of the rising phoenix!'' She then shot a large flaming bird of yellow, red and orange-- a phoenix-- to attack her opponents.
The relentless flaming phoenix chased Konohamaru around the stadium, making it difficult for Konohamaru to pilot the cloud. On the ground, Mikan summoned a horse and rode it into battle; the horse summon ran on the walls, allowing Mikan to continously shoot a barrage of arrows at her enemy. Konohamaru jumped from his cloud as the phoenix attacked and landed on the ground.
''Strike the ground with me, young Konohamaru.'' The great champion suggested and Konohamaru did so, unleashing a powerful cold wind to stop the flaming phoenix.
Mikan continued to shoot her arrows and released a fire dragon to attack Konohamaru. ''Earth style: mud river.'' In response, Konohamaru made a river of mud to combat the fire and Mikan charged with a lance to attack Konohamaru. The Sarutobi struck the ground, knocking Mikan off her summon. He charged to attack Mikan but the redhead quickly got her shamshir out.
With fire on the sword, Mikan dueled Konohamaru who had his gada. The two fought on in a tiring and brutal duel of weapons, each staggering as the seconds became minutes. Thanks to her Uzumaki blood, Mikan had more stamina than Konohamaru and it was beginning to show. The Sarutobi boy was starting to slow down in tiredness.
Still having enough chakra, Mikan jumped back to her horse summon and prepared a powerful jutsu which would be aiddd by her summon. ''Fire-wind combo: majestic flaming hurricane!'' Mikan shot a powerful A rank fire jutsu and the horse shot a wind jutsu. Together, it turned into a powerful hurricane of blazing destruction.
'This has gotten too much.' Gaara, the 5th Kazekage, quickly acted and made a wall of sand around the stadium to protect the people.
Kakashi and the ninjas who knew water style also acted to combat Mikan's fire style. It was not an easy task for any of them.
''Young Konohamaru, strike the air with me.'' The great champion said to Konohamaru who did just that. A cold wind came to combat the flaming hurricane and hot vapor filled the air. People were sweating profusely from the hot air and rain soon followed.
The two combatants, already weakened from the fighting, still continued. An explosive arrow knocked the gada away from Konohamaru and the Sarutobi, using all his remaining strength, charged at Mikan who wasn't far away. Mikan fired her arrows but the great champion of the monkeys came to protect Konohamaru. The Sarutobi jumped up and headbutted Mikan hard, knocking the two out.
The Sand village procter came to inspect the two genin and found that they were both knocked out. ''Since both Konohamaru and Mikan are knocked out, I declare this match to be a draw.'' He announced to the crowd.
